It's your language. You use it every day. You should strive to master it. My late mother, a 27-year, graduate-level professor of English, embedded that in my brain once upon a time. I’m not nearly as smart as she was, but I’m sharp enough to recognize that the vast majority of native-born Americans can’t speak or write English worth a lick.

NBC Nightly News Crawler
Unlike some of the local stations here in San Antonio, the NBC News crawler gets corrected pretty quickly. This correction was done in less than a minute.
And yet we can report everything on the royal wedding correctly? Looks like someone needs a geography lesson. And I'm not talking about Sarah Palin :) Ava
If they used APStyle state abbreviations instead of ZIP Code abbreviations, these mistakes would happen less often. I'd prefer to see ZIP Code abbreviations used only in mailing addresses.
During last night’s bin Laden coverage, one crawler referred to “Pres W George Bush.” I waited to see whether it would be corrected, but after it disappeared, the same crawler never came back.

I agree with dpv. Postal abbreviations are too confusing. Too many of them are similar and too difficult to remember the differences.
