KCRA of Sacramento is “Where the News Comes First.” Spelling must rate somewhere below that. Here’s an excerpt from an article dated 09 June, 2006:
One of the horses is a 26-year-old Arabian mare that is at least 400 pounds underweight. Magnifying the cruelty is the fact that she's been fighting for her life while also taking care of her 5-month-old philly.

“Philly” is a nickname for, you guessed it, Philadelphia; a.k.a. the City of Brotherly Love. “Filly” is the word you should have used, unless you were referring to a five-month-old block of Philly cream cheese, in which case you would be guilty of not capitalizing the word.

ohmigosh! It's right now. At least you know it DID say "philly". Love the title to your post, Carlos.
Bastards! They went and fixed it on me. LOL. I guess the DO have proofreaders after all! :-)
My husband found your blog and got me onto it. I work for a weekly newspaper, so I see some of these common errors. The one that really tickled my funny bone was "Sympathy?" (Dec. 19, 2005). I see lots of errors on local newscasts, also. I'll have to make notes and share some with you.
